4-Day Amboseli & Tsavo West Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
Your safari adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading south toward Amboseli National Park. As the city fades away, the landscape opens into vast plains with views of rural Kenya and distant mountains.
Arrive in Amboseli in time for lunch at your lodge or tented camp, followed by some time to relax and take in the spectacular scenery. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large herds of elephants and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.
Expect to encounter elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and a variety of birdlife, with Kilimanjaro often providing a dramatic backdrop—especially as the clouds clear toward sunset.
Overnight: Lodge or tented camp in Amboseli
Meals: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Wake up early to the sounds of nature and enjoy a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. The soft morning light offers excellent photography opportunities, especially with Mount Kilimanjaro glowing in the background.
Return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by leisure time to relax, enjoy the views, or take a guided nature walk around the camp (where permitted). After lunch, head out for another game drive, exploring different sections of the park, including swamps fed by underground springs from Kilimanjaro—prime spots for elephants, hippos, and birds.
This day allows you to fully immerse yourself in Amboseli’s unique ecosystem and unhurried wildlife encounters.

Day 3: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel east toward Tsavo West National Park, a land of rugged beauty shaped by ancient volcanic activity. Arrive in Tsavo West in time for lunch at your lodge.
In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive exploring the park’s dramatic landscapes—lava flows, rocky hills, and dense bush. Visit iconic attractions such as Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear waters reveal hippos and crocodiles beneath the surface, and keep an eye out for elephants, lions, leopards, and antelope species adapted to this wild terrain.
Tsavo West offers a more raw and untamed safari feel, contrasting beautifully with Amboseli’s open plains.
